Amir Haddad, né Laurent Amir Khlifa Khedider Haddad, is the Israeli-French singer who will represent France at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. In 2006, he took part in the Israeli music competition "Kokhav Nolad " ('A Star is born' -the local Idol franchise). He released a début album, "Vayehi ", in 2011. And he was a finalist in the third season of The Voice France in 2014. Unlike it's the case in many European countries, there is no competition in France to select the song for Eurovision, it's arbitrarily picked by the French channel that broadcasts the show -probably the reason why this country hasn't won since 1977. That's how France will be represented with a song containing English lyrics -for the fifth time ! A catchy and modern pop song with electro beats, "J'ai cherché " ('I've been looking for') is also Amir's début single in France. After being a dental surgeon, he started a professional singing carrer at the age of 29. Since he was a child, he has dreamt of performing on stage and always had the ambition to become an artist.
Update : a Spanish version has surfaced, it's called "Yo busqué " !
