Äzimbek Baylin, Rakhmet Maksat and Zhamalbek Ushkyn started their band Alashuly in 2009 at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts in Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan located in the southeast of the country near the Kyrgyz border. Approximately the same region as another boyband, Melo'men (read this). The main purpose of this pop act is to raise the spirit of the Kazakh youth and promote the Kazakh arts internationally -let alone in the process, modernize the past. Their name come from "Alash", the second name for Kazakhs and the national motto of the country. They reached fame in 2012 with TV shows, gigs, interviews and a contract with a record label and released their début, "Jarapazan " (there). The guys are back today with a brand new song entitled "Meyirim " ('Caress') composed by Zhamalbek Ushkyn with lyrics by Mergen Toksanbay & Birzhan Baytuov.
