Xavier Callicott started singing when he was 11 years of age while living in Seoul, South Korea. His family moved to NYC when he was 15, then to Pittsburgh when he was a sophomore. Although he had no professional singing training, yet inspired by his mom, he auditioned in his hometown for this year's American Idol and got a golden ticket to Hollywood. Now 19, this half-Korean half-American boy lives in Brooklyn where he studies music and voice technique. Recently scouted by Dave Fothergill (Red), he's just started modeling.
"I actually scouted him about four days ago in the subway station near my office on my way home", told me Dave for Morphosis. "I was rushing to catch the train and out of the corner of my eye I noticed him talking to a friend of his", he continued. "I immediately walked over to him and asked him if he modeled. He smiled and said no. Then I proceeded to tell him about a former model of mine, who I scouted in a similar manner to him and who he reminded me of from his overall look. When I told him I was at Red, coincidentally he mentioned that his girlfriend went to the same high school with this model, who, as it turns out happens to be Chris Colton. How uncanny that the very model I was scouting would not only replace the one who left but also bears quite a resemblance in face and body and they both share a love for music. To make a long story short, I took his information and gave him my card and he returned my email the following day". And here's the test shoot on Morphosis !
