Happiness is to be found when in pursuit of it, in the soothed expectation, on the way, not only upon the arrival. Accepting detours, just going the way, which is anyhow not this obvious to anyone.

Happiness is just a hairflip away.

A NEW CLIP EVERY WEEK HERE

"The way the system works now, you see the clothes, within an hour or so they're online, the world sees them. They don't get to a store for six months. The next week, young celebrity girls are wearing them on red carpets. They're in every magazine. The customer is bored with those clothes by the time they get to the store. They're overexposed, you're tired of them, they've lost their freshness".

Sean McGirr
feat. Daisuke Ueda by Rokas Rach

London-based designer Sean McGirr grew up in Dublin, Ireland. He moved to London when he was 19 to study a BA degree in menswear design at the University of the Arts. He has taken on several work experience roles within the industry -most notably as a product development assistant at Burberry and assistant to Shun Watanabe in London and Tokyo. Sean McGirr graduated in June 2011. Referencing the socio-cultural subjects in Koshun Takami's "Battle Royale " for his sophomore collection entitled "Stand and deliver", the designer proposes the intimate wardrobe of a resistant youth -alive amongst the downfall of the school unit, tumbling into a cold establishment. Applying the codes of the school uniform to a masculine plane, Sean McGirr explored a refined silhouette in strong layers. The result is an intuitive look, where smart tailoring and street spirit converge. The palette carries a sci-fi subtext in tones of navy, pale gray mélange, charcoal and taupe pink. Thick ties in varying cottons cross wrists (galants) and forearms (brassards), carrying a fundamental government throughout the collection. This is personified in straight and long layers loosely buttoned or belted with cropped or strapped trousers showcasing the boy who has outgrown his uniform. Utility details appear on outerwear and pants -with bellows pockets, heavy set zips and elastic straps giving a practical reliance. Materials waver between striking and simple, affirming a sense of nonchalance. Supple merino wools and fine silky cottons are worn with stretch fabrics. Technical polyester offers light structure to outerwear, and cotton voile creates sheer panels on shirts. Big trapper hats, fasten up or down imitating text book pages, give the silouettes their finishing touches.
