For this season's collection entitled "Insides", Spanish talented designer Ana González played with irony and double-entendre, the inner body, the private notion like the dissection of a dual instant, material vs soul. The man is an amount of chemical components enhanced with a mind connected with other people. The point is to focus the view on the inner man. The collection is a deconstruction, a life crisis, an experimental feeling. The prints are pictures of the human inmost body through the magnifying lense of a microscope. You can see muscle fibres, red corpuscles, leucocytes, tendons... many parts that make a beautiful décor for the outside of the body. Like a poem about the beauty of your entrails. A different way to see yourself, a new way to show who you are. After Ana Locking reestablished her label in 2009, she knew how to make a bold statement. Her signature bright color palette featured throughout and the multi-tasking microscopic images created a vibrant print with blues and reds entwined, illustrating the connection between flesh and spirit. Flamenco-inspired pieces pointed to Mrs G’s Spanish roots. Palazzo pants were contrasted by angular shoulders and cut-out details in tops and jackets, with utility belts holding pieces together. Head-to-toe color blocking was combined with material with a hint of sheen to create rich tones. Graphic scarlet panda eyes and white complexion topped off the drama of this breath-taking collection.
