NYC-based Cypriot designer Nicolas Petrou is an MA graduate from CSM who's been occupying his time working for an array of companies, including his own. The launch of PETROU\MAN saw him turn his hand to menswear for this season. Oriented to active sportswear, this début offering is a deconstructed mix of patterns, mesh and a reinterpretation of the classic jacket. The mesh inserts in the sleeves enable better movement, the fit is closer to the body but yet relaxed, the lengths are shorter than those of classic jackets and shirts. It's a younger look in general for all the guys that don't want to look like their fathers when wearing a suit. Inspired by an illustration Sirichai completed for Geoffrey Beene in 2001, Mr Petrou effortlessly crossed the boundary of art in his visually stunning presentation. Robbie Spencer, from Brit mag DAZED & Confused styled the show, which saw models in masked jumpsuits. Kudos !
