Etro went red. Dramatic red ? Nope, red wine. It’s up to you Kean Etro to offer this unusual theme for a fashion collection -and it went down smoothly. A shelf of wine bottles comprised the stage set, with a spectrum of reds on the runway the main reference to the drink -and one that had to be assuring to retailers worried about a dearth of color this season. Patterns overlaid with even larger patterns at times overwhelmed Etro’s romantic tailoring. Textured patterns such as jacquards, flocked paisley and mini tucks added more subtle interest. The homespun look of knitted accessories heightened the overall sense of warmth and cheer. Etro was the only show yet to end with the designer doing the happy dance.
