It seems Kazuyuki Kumagai took a different direction and turned Attachment into a prestige brand, giving his own name to this line. The garage show characterized by stiff linens and modern suits complemented the current trends by interpreting both short pants and layering into the collection. The color palette was unique, however, for its use of caramel and cranberry colors. It is rather sad that Kumagai, again like many other designers presenting in Paris this season's collections, opted for colors that were anything but Spring. His rust, tans, browns, blacks, burgundy, etc. causes one to feel that the darker days of these tumultuous and uncertain economic times are nowhere near behind us yet… The ribbon detail on the jackets accentuated the line of the back and gave the pieces depth. Either slim or baggy, the pants were in near-perfect harmony with the blazers, shirts and knit tops. Rather than limit the styling to one or two volumes, Kumagai like other brands has provided a plethora of volumes in order to sell their collections (which is not the case of Bernhard Willhelm)... I guess that it means that if that won’t sell, then this one might.
