Romeo Gigli (part 1)

Romeo Gigli, 59, was born in Faenza, Italy into a wealthy aristocratic family. One need only look at his boyhood to find the beginning of his love of luxury. His father was in the antic book business and he now acknowledges his ideas are mostly taken from pictures of 15th and 16th century books. And this collection was also slightly inspired by Renaissance but blended with Romanticism in a spectrum of muted colors with a fluid sense of sinuous cut and drape to give a feeling of balance to the volumes, perhaps as a clin-d'œil or a result of his architectural training...
