Since selling up his In Circus just before the wave of 1990’s drifted minimalism. Gurskov has continued to turn out maverick pieces that are sure to tempt you off the straight and narrow.
In Circus started up as a sales venue for young designers in Copenhagen in the early 90s.
The shop had immediate success and figured on American Elle’s fave shops in Europe.
After some years, the shop was taken over by Rene Gurskov, who soon became a favorite among the young and the trendy.
The collections came in demand from other shops around the world after showing in Paris and Düsseldorf.
In 2003, the shop was closed and the wholesale company was set up, sporting the name Incircus.dk, producing Rene Gurskov’s labels.
The firm has always been committed to fashion -in its true nature- to give a sign of the times and expressing it in clothing lines. And then moving on when new things pop up.
Fashion is never meant to last (a few staples may prove a long lasting value), but to give the joy of the moment.
Rene Gurskov’s collections contain reversed classics and well-known items that are revisited.
Stylewise, the collection belongs to the Euro-fash scene combined with a Danish sense of shape and function, offering elegant tux-like suits and kid-like sportswear in a variety of colors from deep black to baby-blue and bimboy-pink with a climpse of discolight, which is essential to both sides of the modern man : the cool and the cute !
